The Winter Delights - a season to savor

As winter softly blankets the vineyards of Qimisola, a quiet magic fills the air. The vines, stripped of their vibrant greens, rest peacefully beneath the crisp blue skies, while the soil closes in, gathering strength for the promise of spring. It’s a time of stillness, reflection, and rich traditions.

At Qimisola, winter is more than a season; it’s a celebration of life’s deeper rhythms. And what better way to honor this time than with food that warms both heart and soul? In Northern Italy’s Piemonte region, where our vineyards call home, the beloved tradition of Bagna Cauda takes center stage. This comforting dish—a warm, garlicky anchovy dip served with fresh vegetables—gathers friends and family around the table.

We had the pleasure of attending a delightful Bagna Cauda event, graciously hosted by our local friends Stefano Gozzelino and Sabrina Bologna. Held at the stunning old castle of Costigliole d'Asti, the evening brought together 80 guests for a delightful experience of exceptional food, warm company, and cherished moments.

The beauty of winter at Qimisola lies in these simple joys: the serenity of the vineyards, the grounding embrace of the earth, and the shared delight of good food and good company. As the season invites us to slow down, we find inspiration in its quiet wisdom—nurturing what lies within and celebrating what surrounds us.
